2006 Nepal: State of Emergency

On the 1st of February 2005 King Gyanendra sacked the entire government, dissolved parliament and assumed personal control of the Nepal, declaring another 'State of Emergency'. All internet connections and phone lines were cut. International flights to and from Nepal were suspended. The Nepali Army took control of newsrooms and many civil rights activists were arrested.
