In August 1990, the invasion of Kuwait by Iraqi troops, under the leadership of Saddam Hussein, bought about the Iraq War more commonly known as the Gulf War of 1990. The members of the Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas served in the deserts of Kuwait and Iraq in their war-time role as a medical corps.
